The elephant bush gets its name from its thick, succulent stems that resemble the trunk of an elephant. It's a great addition to any succulent collection.

Water thoroughly when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Reduce watering frequency during the winter months. Overwatering is a common issue, so ensure the soil dries out between waterings.

Light: Portulacaria afra prefers bright, indirect sunlight to full sun. It can tolerate partial shade but will grow more robustly with ample light. For indoor growth, place it near a south or west-facing window.

Location: Suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation. Outdoors, it thrives in warm climates with plenty of sunlight. Indoors, ensure it gets at least 4-6 hours of bright light daily.
