Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. Tolerates full sun outdoors. Indoors, place it near a sunny window.

Watering: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering during winter.

Soil: Use well-draining cactus or succulent soil. Avoid water retention to prevent root rot.

Note: always empty the plate after watering to keep his roots happy and healthy.

Despite its name, the Candlestick Cactus isn’t a true cactus! It belongs to the Euphorbia family, which secretes a milky sap and is technically classified as a succulent.

Euphorbia trigona

indoor Spot: Place it near a south- or east-facing window for bright, indirect light. Ensure some airflow to prevent heat stress during the hotter months.
Outdoor Spot: Choose a location with partial to full sun. In Cairo’s intense summer heat, provide some shade during the peak afternoon hours to avoid scorching. It’s ideal for balconies or gardens where temperatures don’t drop below 10°C in winter.
