Plumeria is famously low-maintenance once established and can handle long stretches of neglect, perfect for a beach house that sits empty for weeks. It's also naturally pest-resistant and thrives in coastal heat and salty air.

Try This: If your plumeria drops all its leaves in winter and looks "dead," don't panic, just cut back watering and wait. New leaves and blooms return with the heat.

Care Instructions

Light: Full sun, at least 6 hours a day. The more sun, the more flowers you'll get.
Water: Water deeply, then let the soil dry out completely before watering again. Cut back watering significantly in winter, it goes semi-dormant and drops its leaves, that's normal, not a problem.
Soil: Well-draining soil is a must, it hates sitting in wet feet.

Frangipani sap can be mildly irritating to skin and is generally considered toxic if ingested (not usually severe, but not "safe" either).
