Light:
full direct sun every day, the more the better. the blue colour intensifies with more sun exposure. a south or west facing garden or balcony is ideal.
Water:
water deeply once every 2 to 3 weeks in summer, once a month or less in winter. she stores water in her pads and overwatering is the fastest way to lose her. excellent drainage is essential.

Opuntia robusta

a sunny garden bed or large terrace pot in full sun. she grows wide over time so give her space. the blue-grey colour looks incredible against white walls, terracotta pots, and natural stone, all very common in Cairo homes and gardens. not suitable for indoors.
