the only real mistake people make: watering too soon.

always wait until the soil is completely dry — not just the top.
use the finger test, or a wooden stick or pencil to check all the way down.
even in summer, it usually won’t need water more often than every 2-3 weeks.
if it’s in a terracotta pot by a sunny window, it might dry a bit faster — but always check first.

yellow leaves? that means you probably watered before it was fully dry. easy fix: just wait longer next time.
